This page suffered a catastrophic error on October 19, 2010 and I lost over 3 ½ years of feedback.  I’m now in the midst of reconstructing prior comments and adding the Before & After pictures back in.  I very much appreciate your patience and understanding in the interim.   ~ Leanna ~

Well I got an e mail today from our own lovely Hott chickie powdercoater Ms Leanna from phoenix specialty coatings asking if my dad got his air cleaner yet????

... so I call over to Grandiddy's house and asked him if he had gotten any packages today and he say's "i got this kewl cake cover and the sweetest note from some chick from tennessee."  ...so I go over there and sure enough he's taken the air cleaner lid from leanna and used it to cover the chocolate cake my mom (his ex wife) made for him and racheal.

...so I scored a piece of cake but he won't let me or racheal read the note????? wtf??? so Good Chickie alert anyway!!!!

OMG !  OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!!!!

I shouldn't be "texting and driving" but it's a safe stretch and I have to reply to company e-mails all the time anyway.

I woulda never thunk it. To say I'm impressed would be a gross understatement. Many thanks !

I bought these from J-Mac awhile back (they were painted red) but in decent shape. Leanna has a before pic, hope she can add to this with the pic before? My 1st Powder Coating

I sent my new manifold and valve covers to our CudaChick and WOW!!!  What a great job!! The parts were coated Alien Silver over Ink Black and then clear coated. The pictures barely do the parts justice. In the sun they just pop.

Any you guys contemplating powder coating, I highly recommend their work. And to all who recommended and praised their work you were right!

And a special thanks to Leanna, you made the experience easy for me, and did a GREAT job.

I know who and where my powdercoating needs will be going to.  Thanks for ALL the effort you and Billy have put into it on restoring this piece to it's glory!

Dear Ms. Johnson,

I received the Mickey Thompson finned aluminum valve covers I sent to you for powder coating and installation of a custom designed decal.  I have never been more pleased with the quality of the work done on these items than any other outside service I have contracted.

Custom Mickey Thompson Mopar valve covers with customer-designed decals produced by Ace of Signs, Selingrove, PennsylvaniaYour work, careful coordination to insure correctness, promptness, and careful re-packing for shipment should be standards.

I am thoroughly pleased with the results and will not hesitate to recommend Phoenix Specialty Coatings to ANYONE who is considering powder coating.

Thank you very much.

Re:  Useful Vendor Reviews - ForABodiesOnly.com

#1 Phoenix Specialty Coatings powdercoated a set of SB Magnum valve covers for me. They can handle all engine parts and now bigger items with their new oven.

#2 Work quality is excellent and customer service is really special. Leanna went above and beyond in working with me to match a color I wanted, complete to sending me color chips to compare prior to doing the work. She also fixed an issue with the baffles on the covers and alerted everyone on FABO to a potential problem.

#3 They're located in Greenfield, TN, but she is a FABO member so you can contact her here as well.

According to UPS, I should get my intake manifold and timing chain cover back from Leanna tomorrow.   She promises I'll be beyond happy.  Soooooooooooo, with apologies to the authors of Twas the Night Before Christmas, here goes:

Twas the night before delivery, when all through the garage

Not a vehicle was stirring, not even a Dodge (poetic license, you know)

The tools were hung by the workbench with care

In hopes my powder coated parts would soon be there

I was snuggled all snug in my bed

While visions of chrome danced in my head

My fastback in the garage and I in my (BOG) cap

Had just settled in for a long nights nap

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter

Away to the window I flew like a flash

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below

When what to my wondering eyes should appear

But Billy and Leanna and eight ice cold beer

With a little old driver, so lively and quick

I knew in a moment it was UPS delivery man Nick

More rapid than eagles the coaters they came

and he whistled and shouted and callled them by name

"Now Leanna, now Billy, now Slimer and Camaro - they all came

To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall!

Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"

So up on the house top the coaters, they flew

With the sleigh full of parts, and Sox and Martin too.

And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

And I drew in my hand, and was turning around

Down the chimney Leanna came with a bound

She was dressed in a BOG shirt and short shorts from her head to her foot

And her clothes were all tarnished with grease and soot

A bundle of parts she had flung on her back

and she looked like a peddler just opening her pack

Her eyes, how they twinkled, her dimples how merry

Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry

She stood so tall as to almost fall

Because the clogs on her feet were six inches tall.                   (Oh Jim, you know me so well!!!!  LMAO)

Billy was with her, trying to spell Cheby

And cussing a storm as Fiat and Chrysler are now heavy

He had a broad face and a big round belly

That shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly elf

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread

He spoke not a word but went straight to work

Leaving me a powder coated manifold and timing cover, perk

And laying her finger aside her nose

Leanna gave a nod, up the chimney they rose

She sprang to Slimer, to her horses she gave a whistle

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle

But I heard her exclaim, ere she drove out of sight

"PHOENIX DID COAT THEM, YOUR PARTS SURE ARE BRIGHT"

Can't wait until tomorrow when I get to open my Christmas presents early …

Re:   Great Work by PSCPontiac intake manifold, hardware and PCV bracket in Poncho Blue

We just had our intake manifold powdercoated by an outfit in TN called Phoenix Specialty Coating (PSC).    When we restored our bird we had many parts powdered by a local firm, but they were all either black or silver - the local firm didn't want to special order any other colors or (anymore) do small jobs.

We learned of PSC on another forum I frequent and I want to pass along how pleased we are with the work they done.  After my initial contact they sent me several color swatches for matching up (we settled on Poncho Blue).  We sent the intake, PVC bracket, thermostat housing and a handful of bolts.  They turned them around in a week for us!  And the quality of the work is way above what we got locally.

Pictures can be found here:  http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=59923, or you can contact me directly and I will be glad to send you the pics.  The color has a little more blue in it, but we intend to send the valve covers in this fall which will mitigate the slight color difference.

I am not related to these folks, but they were super to deal with, price was reasonable and I am happy to give them a plug.  If you are considering any powdercoating, give these good folks a try.

Re:  My Valve Cover Job

This is
the great job that Leanna at "Phoenix Specialty Coatings" did to bring my engine's looks back to life.

There's nothing like having the original parts reborn to keep a car's originality yet give it that newness at the same time. You be the judge.

These are the same valve covers that came on my car 31 years ago 'after' they were polished and refinished by Leanna at Phoenix Specialty Coatings.  This is what they mean when they say it's "Where Your Parts Are Reborn."

Thank you Leanna ... Great job!!

Hey I just got my valve covers, alternator brackets and pulleys back today and they look KILLER! It was like Christmas morning all over again! Thank you so much!  I couldn't have asked for more.

Nick's Mopar valve covers in Ironsides II with polished finsAfter dealing with a few other powder coater's and not having much luck, I was a little skeptical about shipping my parts out but after looking at your work and hearing about your quality on ForABodiesOnly.com I figured I would give coating one more chance and I'm glad I did.

Nick's pulleys in Silk Satin BlackThe pulley's and bracket's look like brand new and what you did with the valve covers is great. Now I can’t wait to get the motor in the car so I can put them on.

By the way my next bunch of parts will be in the mail next week.

Once again, our very own Mistress of Metal did a fabulous job of turning crap into jewels. PSC did a great job on my hood latch loop, popper spring, and safety latch, along with my trunk latch loop. Awesome job! The finish is a silver cadium that is going to POP big time against the Turquoise!

After about a year of doing bussiness with her, she has the audacity to do this to my parts.

I send her 45yr old parts with patina on them, and she completely and utterly makes it all disappear. Not only that but she takes my latches apart and makes them work again.

Sheesh........the gaull of some people!!!!!!!!!!

I would only recommend her services to folks who really want a class act job.

Am I the only one that feels this way?
